Rated 2 out of 5 by Good coat, but OMG is it UGLY!!! Black maybe, but this coat is so ugly! and the plastic-raised "Columbia" is cheesy. Looks like bling bling!!! Don't get me wrong - i love Columbia brand gear, but wow! Also, FYI, would probably be a nice coat in black, but be sure you want it for skiing, cuz the hood is extra large to fit a ski helmet. Not practice for an everyday coat. January 6, 2017
Rated 1 out of 5 by Bad quality Obvious stains (more than 3) and unknown dots on this jacket (online order). Can't believe it happens on the high end product. December 24, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by Insanely warm and lightweight, with *some* functional limitations I've owned this jacket for 1.5 years now, and it gets a 5/5 from me because it is both the warmest and lightest winter jacket I've ever owned. It's warm enough that I've been comfortable walking outside in -20F degree weather wearing just a short-sleeve t-shirt underneath (I've done this multiple times), and it's lightweight enough that I don't think twice about putting it on for just a quick walk down to the corner store...in fact, it's lighter than my everyday softshell jacket that I wear when it's 30-40F degrees! Now, there are limitations, which I'll run through quickly: there's no inner or outer chest pocket; while the arms, hood, and upper chest & back are waterPROOF, the body of the jacket below chest level is merely water-RESISTANT, and I'm not sure how it would hold up in a driving blizzard; there are no pit zippers or ventilation to speak of, and this jacket doesn't breathe at all; because of the aforementioned lack of full-waterproofing and ventilation/breathability, I'd never recommend wearing this jacket for skiing or strenuous physical outdoor activities. I think the strengths far outweigh the drawbacks in practice, so much so that I have no hesitation in rating this 5/5, but I feel Columbia could make some small tweaks to make this jacket even better in future versions December 9, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great jacket! The jacket / coat is terrific and just what I was looking for and hoping it was. I was a little nervous about the sizing, but it fits perfectly and the length is just what I wanted. The warmth is amazing, again, what I wanted. Regarding quality, it's what I have come to expect from Columbia: top notch with great construction from materials, to stitching, to zippers. The weight is next to nothing: the reason I wanted a down coat, and it really compresses for traveling. I am really pleased with my purchase and have nothing negative to say about the coat. Rated 1 out of 5 by Worse than Kmart Brand Winter Coats Based on the other reviews I expected this to be an upgrade from my North Face jacket. It might be the most useless winter coat I have ever put on. I tried it out on the roof of my building in Chicago in November and darn well froze my butt off after 15 minutes. Wind comes through the area between the zipper and insulation on both sides. The zipper itself was fine but the slim area to the sides let wind cut right through it. If this coat was under a windproof shell I would expect it to perform better, but for the price point I should not have to purchase an additional shell. I cannot recommend a coat which can't handle Chicago in November and will be returning the coat. December 1, 2016
Rated 3 out of 5 by Seems nice, but very little insulation in most of the sleeves. This jacket seems like a great idea but is poorly implemented. The torso is very well insulated, but except for the very bottom compartment of the sleeves (maybe 1/5 of the total area, there is barely any insulating present across the shoulders and through your arms. It hasn't migrated down as it appears to be a separate compartment, so it must be designed this way. Effectively, I need to layer to keep my arms warm, but there is so much insulation in the body, that I then overheat my core. I wish they had been consistent with their insulating; if they had, this would be my favorite jacket. Also, it runs slightly large, but I consider this good for a winter jacket, where you should be able to layer under it. November 3, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by awesone jacket its the awesome jacket windproof and waterproof. I dont agree those people say the wind can get in. I live in Nova Scotia its crazy windy and cold place and i wear this jacket it can completely block the wind and cold out. July 9, 2016
Rated 1 out of 5 by Not For Outdoor Use Pictures of this coat for skiing should be removed. Mine ripped but I'm not even sure what ripped it! I brushed against something and down was flying everywhere. I've had many, many Columbia coats with no problems. This coat was designed for going from the car to the shopping center. On the positive side, the coat is extremely warm and very, very light. Since it isn't durable, this means nothing. If you want it for looks, it's great! April 19, 2016
Rated 4 out of 5 by Great cold weather coat Coat was purchased to be warm on walks with dog. Works great for that. My only concern is the zipper doesn't seem up to the quality of the rest of the coat. April 18, 2016
Rated 4 out of 5 by Lightweight and warm Overall, happy that I purchased this jacket. Really appreciate the lighter weight while retaining warmth. 2 things I'd like improved, zipper alignment when starting the zipper takes retrying at times, second, when the jacket is unzipped, the upper part of the jacket is stiff and doesn't form to my body (collars stick out...)
