This is a nice cap to have if you need something to wear under your snowboarding/skiing helmet. Or, if you are going to camp out in the cold. I don't recommend it for an everyday cap. It does run small so keep that in mind.

I've used this hat twice so far on my runs and has kept my head and ears nice and toasty. It hasn't been too cold her yet, 20 degrees is the coldest that I've used it for a run so far. I ran a 15 mile run and the hat came up a little bit but not enough to uncover my ears. Fits snug which is nice to keep my headphones in. It's very light weight and could easily be placed in a pocket for storage. Great hat so far.

Cap is far too tight. Columbia should go tagless in all its products. Surprisingly warm for such thin material.

First, this seems to be VERY well made. I have a buzz hair cut. I ordered a large, and it is tight (shower cap tight). To be fair however, I think "tight" is the whole idea behind this hat.

This beanie is lined with Omni-heat fabric. If it was less restrictive to the wearer, it would probably suffice. It is considerably small even for the L/XL size.

I haven't had a problem at all with the sizing. I have a size 7 1/2 head, and the fit is "snug" (think of a competitor fit, "UA"), with a L/XL, not tight. I've worn it for extended periods with no sign of headache. It's meant to stretch, kind of a compression fit for your head, with light, stretchable material. I've looked everywhere for a beanie that will cover my WHOLE ear, and this is it.
It is very light. You can stuff it in a front pants pocket, and forget it's there. My only complaint is that it isn't warm/wind resistant enough. While it is fairly warm, the lack of the omni-heat material in the lower area (which covers the ears) is a problem. That, and there is almost no wind resistance to the beanie. I plan on using it for some CO 14ers, and wind will be a factor above the treeline.
Overall, not a bad beanie for its weight. I'll hang on to it and bring other options if needed.

The cap is comfortably warm and wind resistant. However, I ordered the largest size available but it still fits quite snugly, and I have very little hair and an avg. size head. I'm hoping that as I wear it it will loosen up a bit but after 1 1/2 weeks of regular use, no luck yet.

The size is right and the omni-heat liner keeps my head nice and toasty even when the temperature drops. Highly recommended
