Perfect for walk on the beach, lake or River. Best thing is these have excellent ventilation. So, any where it is hot and humid, these shoes will be perfect.
Like others have written, these shoes are not made for running. Walking yes, running, no!

Everything works as described. My only complaint is you need to wear socks as they are very rough inside. I own both the Drainmaker 1's and 2's prefer the 1's

Love wearing these around the water and on fishing trips. When on boat I can hose my shoes down and water goes on out helping me keep cooler

It's been a day and a half since they got wet and they are still not dry. So, my quick dry rating is slow dry. Also, support is just adequate--I would like more of it. But EVERYTHING else is super about. I bought them to wear surf fishing. Their snug upper restricts the amount of sand that gets in and sand that gets in actually drains out the bottom. They are very, very comfortable-I wear them even when not fishing. They look good.

Bought these to use on the wet rocks of the Pacific in Olympic National Park. The performed well on the rocks & were comfortable walking in the sand. The mesh top makes them a nice everyday sneaker. I would not use them for hiking. They are not intended to be used on trails. I recommend these sneakers.

Rated 2 out of 5 by McWader Not good for wading creeks
I bought these in hopes of finding a good shoe that would keep out sand and small rocks. I wade small creeks and rivers fishing for smallmouth and I had to stop 3 times in the span of 8 hours to dump the little bits of rock out of my shoes. It was very uncomfortable. It does a fine job of keeping out anything pea-sized or larger but still lets in sand and breadcrumb sized rocks.

Rated 2 out of 5 by Crab Great idea with lots of room for improvement
This shoe fits very comfortably. It should be priced about $60.00
If you go to the beach or river you could easily walk in the water and the shoe drains well. However, getting to the river its not a good shoe. It bends to much; it is not sturdy and it flexes every which way. It is by no means a hiking shoe.
In the water or floating down the river its comfortable. Unfortunately, once the material of this shoe is wet, it takes two days to dry. The idea behind the creator was to go in and out of the water. Why does the material take so long to dry ?
Its a great idea to have a shoe for in and out of the water - keep working on it.

Ordered these shoes for kayak fishing a few months ago and was worried that they would not fit right since I could not try them on first.....worried for nothing!! Once I received them, I was impressed with the light weight material and quality of the shoe. They fit perfect per the size chart and are the most comfortable water shoe I've owned. They're so comfortable that I've actually been using them when walking the track with my wife for exercise. Once in the water, they continue to feel great and do drain very quickly once out of the water. I'm use to switching back to flip flops after a day on the water for the ride home. However, so far I've keep them on while loading up the truck and trailer with my gear and drove home with them on. If you too are worried about getting the right fit, please use the sizing chart that you can print out to size yourself....it works and is true to size/fit!! Great job Columbia.

I am a river rat who does a lot of kayak and wade fishing on an annual basis. Typically, I go through a pair of shoes each year. 6 months in and look like they may make it until next year. They are light, breathable, comfortable, and function well. The only negative , which is why I gave them a 4/5, is that the toe protector needs to extend slightly further back on each side. Highly recommended shoe!

I picked up a pair of these since my hybrid sandal/shoes kept falling apart on me. I always have a need for a comfortable water shoe that I can wear in any situation while still protecting my feet from the sun, and sharp objects in the water like oysters and coral, and still offer traction on boat decks and rocks. Also, being light and cool are desired qualities I was looking for.
I absolutely LOVE these shoes. There so comfortable, that I picked up 2 more pairs and wear them nearly every day. They're the kind of shoe that you wear and almost feel as if you don't have shoes on. I'm on my feet a lot and do quite a bit of walking. I initially thought that they would never be able to put up with the amount of punishment that I would dish out on them, but they've held up quite well. They dry quickly and don't hold an excess amount of water in them.
Two things that I'll say about them is if you wear them without socks, be sure to wash them out regularly as the tend to get stinky fairly fast, and they can tend to hold on to sand and other bits that you might pick up while wading in the water. Other than those two things, these are solid performers for what I do. They fit well and look nice too.
