Beautiful Jacket....nice fit...very warm. Only complaint is the snaps on the removable fur portion of jacket were not properly affixed and 3 came off after just 3 wears. Now unable to use the fur. waiting for response from warranty department. Hoping not to have to send the whole jacket back for analysis, as it's needed for winter wearing right now :(

Rated 5 out of 5 by Lizzie66 Super Warm and comfortable!
Super warm! great against the wind, sheds water, keeps you dry and cozy. 4 outside pockets/ 2 zippered and 2 close w/ snaps (snaps are strong), including roomy inside pocket at chest level. Hood stays up. Belted/ belt is appropriate length and easy to use. wind buffer at neck can be closed for extra warmth. Coat covers my upper thighs, Light weight. material on inside keeps you from perspiring if you are exercising/ skiing, etc. zipper works great. zips up, then snaps over zipper. Arrived quickly. Haven't had super cold weather here yet (coldest its been was 22F) but I'm confident it will keep me warm/ dry all winter. Excellent stitching, etc. I think this coat will last for many years/ well made. Black color looks more like a dark gray, but no complaints here =) LOVE THIS COAT! giving away most of my other winter coats. very attractive for my figure, I have an average figure (I'm 50 YO, height 4'11" and weight 122) I bought the same coat/size small for my daughter in mineshaft color which is light gray, it fits her perfectly and she is 5/2, slimmer and fitter than me.

Rated 2 out of 5 by UrbanTrekker Not for extreme cold
I bought this parka for urban wear. It has nice styling and is well made, but unfortunately it's apparently designed for very active use. It's warm to about 35 degrees at the level of activity typical for someone getting around in a city. At colder temperatures, it's not warm at all. The sleeves have virtually no insulation, so I feel the cold in my arms no matter what I'm doing. If I'm waiting for a bus or otherwise standing in the cold, my core is freezing, too, even if I'm wearing other insulating layers. There is a very big difference in the type and level of insulation needed for low/moderate activity and active/recreational activity. People experience the cold differently, but I wouldn't recommend this for someone who tends to be cold and isn't going to be generating a lot of heat with activity. Manufacturers need to make this clear in their performance specifications.

Rated 5 out of 5 by lizpj Love this coat!
I purchased this coat last year at a local retailer. It is awesome! I purchased the flint gray color and it's beautiful and unique. I am someone who is always cold and I wear this in all but the coldest weather (for me, that's 35 degrees and below). This coat isn't bulky but it's warm and for most people, would probably be warm enough for most weather.
The pockets are large and can easily fit a phone, keys, smaller wallet, etc. Things work as they should and are where you'd expect them. The coat sheds water, is warm, and looks great. What else could you want?
As far as sizing, I am a 4 or 6 on the top (I typically purchase a small) and a 6 on the bottom (5' 5.5"; 130 lbs). I purchased a medium and can fit warm layers under it. I usually just wear a sweatshirt, though. It's slightly roomy but I'd rather have that than have the coat be restricting. So, the general consensus with these reviews that the coat fits slightly small is true for me, too. I don't like things that fit tightly so that might be another reason why I like a slightly looser fit.
I love coats and go through them in a few years because I find that after living with them for a while, they aren't as practical as I'd like. This coat I'll have for years! I love it so much that I'm hoping to purchase a longer coat for colder weather (maybe with down, too) and plan to purchase a Columbia product since I love this one so much.

I've received this coat as stated on delivery date, and so far, I've been wearing it to wherever I go. The Omni-Heat thermal reflective lining inside is what kept me warm since I'm always in short sleeve because I'm not the sweater type person, I get too hot easily. I love my new coat and hopefully it can last me through many years of winter.

Rated 2 out of 5 by LiliR This product is ok
The coat runs a little small, I tried the Large at the store and it fit a little big, so I order the Medium because they didn't have it at the store n it fits a little small. And as far as the omni heat interior it does not keep you warm. I live in Chicago and it's 7 degrees and the interior feels cold when I'm outside. I wish I would have not bought it and gone for something else.

Rated 2 out of 5 by DogWalkerPDX Not warm
I bought a version of this jacket earlier in the year and it has not performed. The jacket is just not very warming at all for colder temperatures. In order for me to be warm I have had to layer it with a puffer vest underneath -- and there is plenty of room to do this. I am 5' 4" and the XS is huge on me. I bought this jacket based on glowing reviews and the idea of being warm here in PDX while I walk my dog in the winter. Nope. I also feel that the pockets are not well placed. I was told in the store to put on the jacket indoors before heading out in order to get the real reflective heat going --which I do, but when I bend over to put on my shoes, my phone and whatever else is in my pocket prevents me from doing so. I guess this jacket is for taller people? I made an amazing discovery the other day that propelled me to write this review. I tried on a puffer jacket from Costco that my daughter owns and was instantly warm. Hmm. It is disappointing that Columbia is unable to live up to this.

Rated 5 out of 5 by revmyengine Sizing up was a good call
After poring through the reviews, I decided to buy a size up. I'm 5'2" and ~125 lbs, normally a size Small in most clothing. However, I carry more weight in my torso and I read others' warnings in the review section, so sizing up was definitely a good call. Product arrived swiftly, and has been doing a good job of keeping me warm in the NC winter....which is relatively mild, but feels chilly to a California native! It fits nicely with plenty of room for layering. Admittedly, it's a little long in the sleeves, but I think it will be less of a problem as the winter gets colder and my layering thickness increases. The double zipper is a little finicky at times, but it hasn't been a huge issue yet. I love the lined pockets and collar!

Rated 4 out of 5 by DRKL Pretty happy with it
Got this at a sporting goods store on Black Friday, I am about 5'4 size 10, apple shape. The medium was right in the shoulders but too snug in the midsection. Given the belt, I went up to the Large, which fits pretty well, although a little roomy in the shoulders. I suppose this will be of benefit with a heavy sweater. So far, so good -have worn it a few chilly days in NYC. Hood is a good fit and does not block peripheral view.

Rated 3 out of 5 by BlasterMaster Get it on sale
I went to the store and tried on almost all of their winter coats, I bought this one. I was really disappointed with their selection as a lot of their coats are bulky and ill fitting, have side pockets in weird places (on the chest?!), and are made with lower quality materials. This coat wasn't much of an exception, it only made the cut because it featured a belt which gave me some shape unlike their other designs.
The hood is lined, like almost all of their jackets this year, with a low quality "sherpa" fleece. This material is prone to pilling and coming loose. I took one glance at the hood and I could see patches where it was already falling out. This fabric dirties up over time and looks really disgusting, a very poor design choice on Columbia's part. There's little insulation in the arms as other reviewers have noted, but I found this with all of their jackets. I recommend sizing up if you feel the coat is too tight because you will want to wear sweaters underneath.
I found the sizing to be fair, I wear a small-medium and fit the small with a little room to spare (on top of a sweater). The design is probably the nicest out of all the winter coats, you can especially see the difference in person. I have yet to experience real frigid temperatures to test it out but I've heard it's mediocre in terms of function. It's not much different than a coat I purchased elsewhere a few years ago for less money, case in point, buy it on sale! It's not worth full price.
