I tried these on in a store before purchasing on the internet. The ones in the store had more cushion than the ones I received. Shoes are still comfortable. Very lightweight.

The shoes are mediocre, but Columbia is the only company that makes women's size 12 hikers. It's unfortunate that women with large feet can't find a shoe that is comfortable and accommodates heavy hiking socks. Thanks Columbia for hanging in there, but could you put some padding in your insoles so the shoes are more comfortable? They are stable and solid; they're just not great.

Rated 4 out of 5 by kameb could use a little arch support
i was looking for something for running and hiking. This worked perfectly. Its a little heavy for serious runners, but I am not one so no problem. It has great traction! Its the normal great quality I expect from columbia products. My only complain is that it could use some arch support. If I was just using this for walking it would have been fine, but since I am jogging too, I added some padding. So far its great. Works just like a shoe

I tried really hard to find a shoe that didn't run small but this wasn't the one. I also wear orthotics, but the toe box doesn't have much room unless you have a pretty narrow foot. In the picture it looks more red to me, but in person it is bright pink...that alone made me dislike these at first. They are really light and would have worked if the toe box allowed more room for me. I'm sad to return them, and have to PAY extra to return a product that I couldn't even use. Not sure if I'll be ordering any products from the Columbia site, I should have stayed with my trusted Zappos site that allows free shipping and returns, every day of the year. Peace!

I love ordering shoes from Columbia because they carry a size 10.5, which is next to impossible to find in stores. Even a major sporting good store, which carry this style shoe, can not order it in a 10.5. My last pair of Columbia hiking shoes fit perfectly, but I couldn't remember the style name. These looked just like my other pair, except for the color, so I asked my husband for a pair for Christmas. I tried them on at home and they felt OK.
It wasn't until I took the dog for an extended walk that I realized how narrow and uncomfortable they are. The foot bed feels very odd and lumpy, especially on the left shoe. I should note that I replaced the original insoles with my "Superfeet" insoles that my podiatrist recommended, but, as I took them from my old shoes, I can't imagine that this is why the shoes are so uncomfortable. In face, just standing in them in the house, the shoes felt more comfortable with the Superfeet insoles than with the original.
I feel bad that we paid a decent amount for these shoes and they aren't anywhere near as comfortable as the last pair I ordered from Columbia. Comparing the two pairs of shoes, my other pair just feel much more "substantial" than this pair. I know I didn't get the waterproof shoe last time so I don't know why there is so much difference between the two.

I order shoes all the time and I really trust the reviewers on Columbia's site. I really wear a 4 1/2 and ordered these because they are a 5 and it said runs slightly small. Correct as usual. I use these shoes mostly for work and walks on the trails near my house. Great value.

I wear these shoes daily. I walk and can run with the dogs in any terrain. I also then wear them to work as I work in an art studio and working environment with cement floors and have to go up and down ladders. They are comfortable, great color and good tread. I think they are true to size. I think the price is fantastic for the shoe.

I was able to wear these shoes immediately without needing a break-in period. They seem flimsy - very lightweight, but so far, so good. I haven't taken them on lengthy hikes yet.
I'm normally an 8.5 and they fit me fine without feeling too snug. I don't know why it's listed as being slightly small - maybe the sizing is inconsistent. I got the Boulder color and the photos are pretty accurate
My only regret is that I'm starting to dislike these breathable mesh shoes. Dust/dirt gets inside and they wouldn't work if it's raining. So my next shoe will be a waterproof style.

Bought these for a trip to Colorado and I can't wait to put them to work. I ordered 1/2 size up and I'm very glad I did, they fit perfectly doing that. They're very comfortable and lightweight.
