Columbia is challenging you to embrace the cold and Go Out Anyway. Complete 12 hours of outdoor activities in a four-week period for a chance to win an Ultimate Hiking Getaway trip for two to Whistler. Throughout the challenge you will have multiple opportunities to win quality cold-weather Columbia gear, tested tough for really anything Canadian winters can bring. When you have good gear, there are no bad days. So, gear up, whether the weather and Go Out Anyway.

1. ELIGIBILITY: The Go Out Anyway Challenge (“Contest”) is open only to individuals who are (a) legal residents of Canada, and (b) at least nineteen (19) years of age and the age of majority in their province of residence at the time of entry. Employees of Sponsor, their affiliate companies, or other companies associated with the Contest, as well as the immediate family (spouse, parents, siblings, and children) and household members of any such employee, are not eligible to enter. The Contest is subject to all federal, provincial, and local laws and regulations and is void where prohibited.
2. SPONSOR: The Contest is sponsored by Columbia Sportswear Canada Limited, 1425 Max Brose Drive, London, Ontario, Canada N6N 0A2 (“Sponsor”). This Contest is in no way sponsored, endorsed, or administered by, or associated with, Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, Instagram, Strava, etc.
3. AGREEMENT TO OFFICIAL RULES: Participation in this Contest constitutes your full and unconditional agreement to and acceptance of these Official Rules and the decisions of Sponsor, which are final and binding in all matters related to this Contest. Winning a prize is contingent upon fulfilling all requirements set forth herein in a timely manner.
4. ENTRY PERIOD: The Contest begins at 12:01 a.m. ET on November 18, 2023 and ends on December 18, 2023, at 11:59 p.m. ET (the “Entry Period”). Entries submitted before or after the Entry Period will not be eligible. Sponsor’s computer is the official timekeeping device for the Contest.
5. ENTRY: To enter, during the Entry Period, join the Columbia Go Out Anyway Challenge on the Strava app by signing up with your valid email address. You can access the app challenge page by clicking on either of the following links: www.columbiasportswear.ca/en/go-out-anyway/ or www.columbiasportswear.ca/fr/go-out-anyway/. You will need to download the app and create a Strava account in order to enter, and your participation is subject to Strava’s Terms of Service. To be eligible for the Weekly Draw (defined below), you must have joined the Columbia Go Out Anyway Challenge on the Strava app prior to the date and time of the relevant Weekly Draw. To be eligible for the Grand Prize, you must have joined the Columbia Go Out Anyway Challenge on the Strava app and completed 12 hours of outdoor activity during the Entry Period, which must be tracked in the Strava app. There is a limit of one (1) entry per person. Use of any robotic, automatic, programmed, or similar entry method or entering more than the number of times permitted or by any means except as permitted in these Official Rules will void all entries and result in disqualification. You may not enter more times than indicated by using multiple email addresses, identities, or devices in an attempt to circumvent the rules. Proof of submission will not be deemed to be proof of receipt by Sponsor.
Free Alternate Method of Entry (“AMOE”)/No Purchase Necessary: To enter without signing up and fully completing the Columbia Go Out Anyway Challenge on the Strava app, you may hand print your name, address, email address, postal code, and phone number on a plain 3″ x 5″ piece of paper and sign it. Place the entry form in an envelope and mail it with sufficient postage to Attn: Columbia Marketing Department, 1425 Max Brose Dr Unit 1, London, Ontario N6N 0A2. Entries must be received no later than December 18, 2023. There is a limit of one (1) mail-in entry per person. All mail-in entries will bear the same odds as other entries.
6. DRAWING; ODDS; NOTIFICATION OF POTENTIAL WINNERS: During the Entry Period, Sponsor will select five (5) potential winners each week in a random drawing of all eligible entries received (each a “Weekly Draw”). There will be four (4) Weekly Draws, which will take place as follows: • Friday, November 24, 2023 at or after 5:00:01 PM ET • Friday, December 1st 2023 at or after 5:00:01 PM ET • Friday, December 8th 2023 at or after 5:00:01 PM ET • Friday, December 15th 2023 at or after 5:00:01 PM ET After the Entry Period, Sponsor will select one (1) Grand Prize potential winner in a random drawing of all eligible entries received.
The odds of being selected depend on the number of eligible entries received. Sponsor will attempt to notify each potential winner by email within seven (7) days. If a potential winner cannot be reasonably contacted, verified, or confirmed after two (2) attempts (and further attempts at Sponsor’s sole discretion), a prize is declined, or a potential winner is not eligible for award of a prize for whatever reason, an alternate potential winner may be randomly selected by Sponsor from all remaining eligible entries.
7. REQUIREMENTS OF THE POTENTIAL WINNERS: Potential winners are subject to verification by Sponsor, whose decisions are final and binding in all matters related to this Contest. You are not a winner of any prize unless and until your eligibility has been verified and you have been notified that verification is complete. Except where prohibited, potential winners (and their guest, as applicable) may be required to timely complete and return an affidavit of eligibility (including a declaration of compliance with these Official Rules), applicable forms for tax reporting purposes, a comprehensive liability waiver and publicity release, and/or other documents requested by Sponsor. In order to win a prize, a potential winner who is a resident of Canada must also correctly answer (unaided) a mathematical skill-testing question. If a potential winner fails to sign and return these documents or correctly answer the skill-testing question within the required time period, an alternate potential winner may be selected in his/her place in a random drawing of all remaining eligible entries. Acceptance of any prize will constitute and signify winner’s agreement and consent that Sponsor and its designees may use winner’s name, city, state, likeness, opinion, and voice for promotional, advertising, or other purposes, worldwide, in any and all media now known or hereafter devised, including the internet, without limitation and without further payment, notification, permission or other consideration, except where and to the extent prohibited by law.
8. WEEKLY DRAW PRIZES: Twenty (20) Weekly Draw winners will receive one (1) prize from the following selection of products: Women’s Platinum Peak™ Hooded Jacket, Men’s Platinum Peak™ Hooded Jacket, Women's Joy Peak™ Mid Insulated Hooded Jacket, Men's Labyrinth Loop™ Insulated Hooded Jacket, Women's Keetley™ Shorty Boot, Men's Expeditionist™ Shield Boot. Approximate retail value: $170 - $250 CAD. Sponsor will select the prize to be awarded to each Weekly Draw winner in its sole discretion and will make reasonable efforts to select a product acceptable to winner.
GRAND PRIZE: One (1) winner will receive a trip for two (2) to Whistler, BC for a hiking adventure getaway and an assortment of Columbia product to be selected from Sponsor’s available inventory as reflected on Sponsor's website https://www.columbiasportswear.ca/ at the time of award. The value of the selected product may not exceed $1,000 CAD retail value and all awarded product is subject to Sponsor’s sole discretion. The trip includes (a) economy/coach class, round-trip airfare for the grand prize winner and one (1) adult guest to Whistler, BC from the major international gateway airport within Canada nearest to the winner’s residence; (b) three (3) nights double-occupancy hotel accommodations; (c) an economy-class rental car or equivalent transportation between the Vancouver International Airport (YVR) and hotel. Approximate retail value: $7,000 CAD (including product selection). Winner and guest must travel together and redeem prize during the date range determined by Sponsor in its sole discretion or prize will be forfeited in its entirety. Notwithstanding the foregoing, Sponsor will make reasonable efforts to select travel times acceptable to winner and guest. Due to limits in availability, travel must be booked and completed by winner according to Sponsor’s instructions BEFORE December 20, 2024. Travel dates are subject to availability and blackout dates as determined by Sponsor in its sole discretion. Sponsor will determine flight itinerary in its sole discretion. No refund or compensation will be made in the event of the cancellation or delay of any flight. Travel is subject to the terms and conditions set forth by the airline(s) as detailed in the passenger ticket contract, and the standard terms and conditions of other common carriers and accommodation and service providers. Winner will be required to present a valid Canadian driver’s license and personal credit card at time of vehicle rental and comply with standard terms and conditions of rental agreement. Other travel restrictions, conditions, and limitations may apply. Sponsor will not replace any lost, mutilated, or stolen tickets, passes, travel vouchers, or certificates.
All prizes are non-transferable, non-refundable, and cannot be redeemed for cash or credit, in whole or in part. Prizes are awarded “as is” with no warranty or guarantee, express or implied. Prizes will be shipped to winner’s address within Canada, as applicable. No substitution may be made except Sponsor reserves the right to substitute a prize or prize component for one of equal or greater value if the designated prize should be unavailable for any reason. Winner is responsible for payment of all applicable taxes and all other costs, fees, and expenses not explicitly included in the prize as set forth above. Any prize details not specified above will be determined by Sponsor in its sole discretion. Prizes will be reported as income to the extent required by law. All activities related to the prizes, including without limitation hiking, flying or other physical activities, are at the winner’s own risk, including the risk of death, and subject to restrictions imposed by applicable service providers and governing and regulatory agencies. If the winner declines or fails to accept a portion of the prize, that portion is forfeited. Actual prize value may vary based on price fluctuations and other factors. Winner will not receive difference between actual and approximate retail value of prize.
9. GENERAL CONDITIONS: This Contest is void where prohibited by law and is subject to all applicable federal, provincial and municipal laws and regulations. Sponsor reserves the right, subject to the approval of the Régie des alcools, des courses et des jeux, to modify, suspend, terminate or reinstate the Contest or the Official Rules at any time, without notice, and for any reason. If the Contest is terminated, in whole or in part, before the designated date, Sponsor reserves the right to select potential winners in a random drawing from all eligible entries received as of the date of the termination or the event giving rise to the termination, as the case may be. Inclusion in such drawing shall be each entrant’s sole and exclusive remedy under such circumstances. Sponsor reserves the right in its sole discretion to disqualify any individual it finds to be tampering with the entry process or the operation of the Contest or to be acting in violation of these Official Rules or in an unsportsmanlike or disruptive manner. Any attempt by any person to undermine the legitimate operation of the Contest may be a violation of criminal and civil law and, should such an attempt be made, Sponsor reserves the right to seek damages from any such person to the fullest extent permitted by law. Sponsor’s failure to enforce any term of these Official Rules will not constitute a waiver of that provision. All activity arising out of and relating to the Contest is subject to verification and auditing for compliance with the Official Rules, and you agree to cooperate with Sponsor concerning verification and auditing. All references to an entrant’s status as a “winner” are subject to Sponsor verification and auditing. If verification activity or an audit evidences non-compliance of an entry or entrant with the Official Rules as determined by Sponsor in its sole discretion, Sponsor reserves the right to disqualify the entrant and remove the entry from the contest at any time. No correspondence regarding the Contest will be made with or entered into except with the potential winners. Each winner’s first and last name will be made publicly available at Sponsor’s office at 1425 Max Brose Dr, London, ON N6N 0A2 and may be posted on www.columbiasportswear.ca and on other Sponsor marketing channels. In the event of any discrepancy or inconsistency between the terms and conditions of these Official Rules and disclosures or other statements contained in any Contest-related materials, including but not limited to the Contest entry form, or point of sale, television, print or online advertising, the terms and conditions of these Official Rules shall govern and control. In the event of any discrepancy or inconsistency between the English language version and the French language version of the Official Rules, the English version shall govern and control.
10. PRIVACY: By entering the Contest, each entrant consents to the collection, storage, use and disclosure of their personal information for the purpose of administering the Contest by Sponsor and for the purposes described in these Official Rules, in accordance with Sponsor’s privacy policy found at https://www.columbiasportswear.ca/en/privacy-policy.html By participating in the Contest, each entrant acknowledges and agrees that (i) all information and material, including any personal information provided in the entry materials, affidavits, and releases, will be shared with Sponsor’s agents, representatives, and other third parties involved in the execution, administration, or hosting of the Contest (the “Promotion Entities”), and may be further publicized or released for promotional and compliance purposes and (ii) the Promotion Entities may communicate with entrants via e-mail with respect to the results of the Contest and the awarding of a prize. No marketing communications will be received by entrants unless entrants provide Sponsor with explicit permission to do so. In the event of any conflict between these Official Rules and the terms of Sponsor’s Privacy Policy, these Official Rules will govern.
11. LIMITATIONS OF LIABILITY; DISCLAIMERS/RELEASE: By participating in the Contest, you agree to release and hold harmless the Released Parties (defined below) from and against any claim or cause of action arising out of participation in the Contest or receipt or use of any prize, including but not limited to, (a) any inaccurate information, whether caused by entrants or printing errors; (b) unauthorized human intervention in any part of the Contest; (c) technical failures of any kind, including, but not limited to electronic malfunctioning of any network, hardware, or software; (d) technical or human error which may occur in the administration of the Contest or the processing of entries; (e) lost, delayed, stolen, damaged, incomplete, invalid, unintelligible, garbled, misdirected, mutilated, or undeliverable entries, all of which will be void; or (f) any injury or damage to persons or property including, but not limited to, death, which may be caused, directly or indirectly, in whole or in part, as a result of your participation in the Contest or receipt of any prize. If there is a dispute as to the identity of an entrant, the authorized account holder of the email address associated with the Strava account used to enter will be deemed to be the entrant. The “authorized account holder” is the natural person assigned an email address by an internet service provider, online service provider, or other organization responsible for assigning email addresses for the domain associated with the email address. You may be required to show proof of being an authorized account holder. Sponsor and its parent(s), subsidiaries, affiliates, distributors, and retailers, and all of their respective advertising and promotional agencies, representatives, shareholders, employees, contractors, officers, directors, and agents, as well as all social media sites or apps, including Strava (collectively, the “Released Parties”) expressly disclaim any and all warranties of any kind (whether express, implied, statutory or otherwise), including but not limited to, implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. Under no circumstances will the Released Parties be held responsible or liable for your use of the information and/or products provided and/or made available through the Contest or for errors or anomalies resulting in the unintended or erroneous participation, award of prize, or other benefits under these official rules. Released Parties offer no assurances, guarantees, or warranties that the Contest will be uninterrupted or error-free and do not guarantee the accuracy or reliability of any information obtained through the Contest. Released Parties will not be liable or responsible for damages of any kind related to your participation in or inability to participate in the Contest, whether the damages are direct, indirect, incidental, special, or consequential. Some jurisdictions may not allow the limitation or exclusion of liability for incidental or consequential damages, so the above limitations or exclusions may not apply to you in whole or in part.
12. DISPUTES: FOR QUEBEC RESIDENTS, ANY LITIGATION RESPECTING THE CONDUCT OR ORGANIZATION OF A PUBLICITY CONTEST MAY BE SUBMITTED TO THE RÉGIE DES ALCOOLS, DES COURSES ET DES JEUX FOR A RULING. ANY LITIGATION RESPECTING THE AWARDING OF A PRIZE MAY BE SUBMITTED TO THE RÉGIE ONLY FOR THE PURPOSES OF HELPING THE PARTIES REACH SETTLEMENT. Except where prohibited, you agree that (a) any and all disputes, claims and causes of action arising out of, or connected with the Contest or any prize awarded will be resolved individually, without resort to any form of class action, and exclusively by the appropriate court located in Ontario, Canada; (b) any and all claims, judgments, and awards will be limited to actual out-of-pocket costs incurred, including costs associated with entering the Contest, but in no event attorneys’ fees; and (c) under no circumstances will you be permitted to obtain awards for, and you hereby waive all rights to claim, indirect, punitive, incidental, and consequential damages and any other damages other than for actual out-of-pocket expenses, and any and all rights to have damages multiplied or otherwise increased. All issues and questions concerning the construction, validity, interpretation, and enforceability of these Official Rules, your rights and obligations, or the rights and obligations of any other entrant or Sponsor in connection with the any portion of the Contest, will be governed by, and construed in accordance with, the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada applicable therein, without giving effect to any choice of law or conflict of law rules, which would cause the application of the laws of any jurisdiction other than the Province of Ontario. 13. WINNERS LIST: You may obtain the Contest results by sending a self-addressed, stamped envelope to Sponsor with a printed request for “Go Out Anyway Challenge Winners List.” Records may not be available beyond two (2) years.

No substitution may be made except Sponsor reserves the right to substitute a prize or prize component for one of equal or greater value if the designated prize should be unavailable for any reason. Winner is responsible for payment of all applicable taxes and all other costs, fees, and expenses not explicitly included in the prize as set forth above. Any prize details not specified above will be determined by Sponsor in its sole discretion. Prizes will be reported as income to the extent required by law. All activities related to the prizes, including without limitation hiking, flying or other physical activities, are at the winner’s own risk, including the risk of death, and subject to restrictions imposed by applicable service providers and governing and regulatory agencies. If the winner declines or fails to accept a portion of the prize, that portion is forfeited. Actual prize value may vary based on price fluctuations and other factors. Winner will not receive difference between actual and approximate retail value of prize.
9. GENERAL CONDITIONS: This Contest is void where prohibited by law and is subject to all applicable federal, provincial and municipal laws and regulations. Sponsor reserves the right, subject to the approval of the Régie des alcools, des courses et des jeux, to modify, suspend, terminate or reinstate the Contest or the Official Rules at any time, without notice, and for any reason. If the Contest is terminated, in whole or in part, before the designated date, Sponsor reserves the right to select potential winners in a random drawing from all eligible entries received as of the date of the termination or the event giving rise to the termination, as the case may be. Inclusion in such drawing shall be each entrant’s sole and exclusive remedy under such circumstances. Sponsor reserves the right in its sole discretion to disqualify any individual it finds to be tampering with the entry process or the operation of the Contest or to be acting in violation of these Official Rules or in an unsportsmanlike or disruptive manner. Any attempt by any person to undermine the legitimate operation of the Contest may be a violation of criminal and civil law and, should such an attempt be made, Sponsor reserves the right to seek damages from any such person to the fullest extent permitted by law. Sponsor’s failure to enforce any term of these Official Rules will not constitute a waiver of that provision. All activity arising out of and relating to the Contest is subject to verification and auditing for compliance with the Official Rules, and you agree to cooperate with Sponsor concerning verification and auditing. All references to an entrant’s status as a “winner” are subject to Sponsor verification and auditing. If verification activity or an audit evidences non-compliance of an entry or entrant with the Official Rules as determined by Sponsor in its sole discretion, Sponsor reserves the right to disqualify the entrant and remove the entry from the contest at any time. No correspondence regarding the Contest will be made with or entered into except with the potential winners. Each winner’s first and last name will be made publicly available at Sponsor’s office at 1425 Max Brose Dr, London, ON N6N 0A2 and may be posted on www.columbiasportswear.ca and on other Sponsor marketing channels. In the event of any discrepancy or inconsistency between the terms and conditions of these Official Rules and disclosures or other statements contained in any Contest-related materials, including but not limited to the Contest entry form, or point of sale, television, print or online advertising, the terms and conditions of these Official Rules shall govern and control. In the event of any discrepancy or inconsistency between the English language version and the French language version of the Official Rules, the English version shall govern and control.
10. PRIVACY: By entering the Contest, each entrant consents to the collection, storage, use and disclosure of their personal information for the purpose of administering the Contest by Sponsor and for the purposes described in these Official Rules, in accordance with Sponsor’s privacy policy found at https://www.columbiasportswear.ca/en/privacy-policy.html By participating in the Contest, each entrant acknowledges and agrees that (i) all information and material, including any personal information provided in the entry materials, affidavits, and releases, will be shared with Sponsor’s agents, representatives, and other third parties involved in the execution, administration, or hosting of the Contest (the “Promotion Entities”), and may be further publicized or released for promotional and compliance purposes and (ii) the Promotion Entities may communicate with entrants via e-mail with respect to the results of the Contest and the awarding of a prize. No marketing communications will be received by entrants unless entrants provide Sponsor with explicit permission to do so. In the event of any conflict between these Official Rules and the terms of Sponsor’s Privacy Policy, these Official Rules will govern.
11. LIMITATIONS OF LIABILITY; DISCLAIMERS/RELEASE: By participating in the Contest, you agree to release and hold harmless the Released Parties (defined below) from and against any claim or cause of action arising out of participation in the Contest or receipt or use of any prize, including but not limited to, (a) any inaccurate information, whether caused by entrants or printing errors; (b) unauthorized human intervention in any part of the Contest; (c) technical failures of any kind, including, but not limited to electronic malfunctioning of any network, hardware, or software; (d) technical or human error which may occur in the administration of the Contest or the processing of entries; (e) lost, delayed, stolen, damaged, incomplete, invalid, unintelligible, garbled, misdirected, mutilated, or undeliverable entries, all of which will be void; or (f) any injury or damage to persons or property including, but not limited to, death, which may be caused, directly or indirectly, in whole or in part, as a result of your participation in the Contest or receipt of any prize. If there is a dispute as to the identity of an entrant, the authorized account holder of the email address associated with the Strava account used to enter will be deemed to be the entrant. The “authorized account holder” is the natural person assigned an email address by an internet service provider, online service provider, or other organization responsible for assigning email addresses for the domain associated with the email address. You may be required to show proof of being an authorized account holder. Sponsor and its parent(s), subsidiaries, affiliates, distributors, and retailers, and all of their respective advertising and promotional agencies, representatives, shareholders, employees, contractors, officers, directors, and agents, as well as all social media sites or apps, including Strava (collectively, the “Released Parties”) expressly disclaim any and all warranties of any kind (whether express, implied, statutory or otherwise), including but not limited to, implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. Under no circumstances will the Released Parties be held responsible or liable for your use of the information and/or products provided and/or made available through the Contest or for errors or anomalies resulting in the unintended or erroneous participation, award of prize, or other benefits under these official rules. Released Parties offer no assurances, guarantees, or warranties that the Contest will be uninterrupted or error-free and do not guarantee the accuracy or reliability of any information obtained through the Contest. Released Parties will not be liable or responsible for damages of any kind related to your participation in or inability to participate in the Contest, whether the damages are direct, indirect, incidental, special, or consequential. Some jurisdictions may not allow the limitation or exclusion of liability for incidental or consequential damages, so the above limitations or exclusions may not apply to you in whole or in part.
12. DISPUTES: FOR QUEBEC RESIDENTS, ANY LITIGATION RESPECTING THE CONDUCT OR ORGANIZATION OF A PUBLICITY CONTEST MAY BE SUBMITTED TO THE RÉGIE DES ALCOOLS, DES COURSES ET DES JEUX FOR A RULING. ANY LITIGATION RESPECTING THE AWARDING OF A PRIZE MAY BE SUBMITTED TO THE RÉGIE ONLY FOR THE PURPOSES OF HELPING THE PARTIES REACH SETTLEMENT. Except where prohibited, you agree that (a) any and all disputes, claims and causes of action arising out of, or connected with the Contest or any prize awarded will be resolved individually, without resort to any form of class action, and exclusively by the appropriate court located in Ontario, Canada; (b) any and all claims, judgments, and awards will be limited to actual out-of-pocket costs incurred, including costs associated with entering the Contest, but in no event attorneys’ fees; and (c) under no circumstances will you be permitted to obtain awards for, and you hereby waive all rights to claim, indirect, punitive, incidental, and consequential damages and any other damages other than for actual out-of-pocket expenses, and any and all rights to have damages multiplied or otherwise increased. All issues and questions concerning the construction, validity, interpretation, and enforceability of these Official Rules, your rights and obligations, or the rights and obligations of any other entrant or Sponsor in connection with the any portion of the Contest, will be governed by, and construed in accordance with, the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada applicable therein, without giving effect to any choice of law or conflict of law rules, which would cause the application of the laws of any jurisdiction other than the Province of Ontario. By participating in the Contest, you agree that Ontario will be the exclusive forum for any formal dispute resolution.
13. WINNERS LIST: You may obtain the Contest results by sending a self-addressed, stamped envelope to Sponsor with a printed request for “Go Out Anyway Challenge Winners List.” Records may not be available beyond two (2) years.
