Columbia, in partnership with Intuitive Machines, is committed to pushing outdoor exploration even further by taking our Omni-Heat™ Infinity technology to the moon, while furthering advancements for women in STEM and space exploration.

We hope to go further than humankind has ever gone before. To walk the walk, we’re committing $100,000 in scholarship funding to help women attain educational goals in STEM fields. In partnership with Intuitive Machines, Columbia again is testing the limits of our innovations by sending Omni-Heat™ Infinity to the moon to protect the Nova-C lander from the extreme temperatures of outer space.

In December 1972, Apollo 17 astronauts took humankind’s last steps on the Moon. In 2023, the return journey begins.

Intuitive Machines will send the Nova-C lunar lander to the surface of the Moon for the first time in more than 50 years. That spacecraft will incorporate Columbia’s Omni-Heat™ Infinity thermal-reflective technology to help protect it.

As part of NASA’s Artemis Program lunar exploration efforts, the IM-1 mission will help lay the foundation for a sustainable human presence on the Moon. More broadly, it is an ambitious scientific quest fueled by a desire for a greater understanding of our solar system and an effort to gain knowledge for the progress of humanity. For Columbia, it is an unparalleled opportunity for exploration and discovery, paving the way for advancements in technologies and materials innovations that will enhance our products and the lives of our customers.
