In December 1972, Apollo 17 astronauts took humankind’s last steps on the Moon. In 2023, the return journey begins.

Intuitive Machines will send the Nova-C Lunar lander to the surface of the Moon for the first time in more than 50 years. That spacecraft will incorporate Columbia’s Omni-Heat™ Infinity thermal-reflective technology to help protect it from the extreme temperatures of space.

As part of NASA’s Artemis Program lunar exploration efforts, the IM-1 mission will help lay the foundation for a sustainable human presence on the Moon. More broadly, it is an ambitious scientific quest fueled by a desire for a greater understanding of our solar system and an effort to gain knowledge for the progress of humanity.
